The Big Breakfast
Nelly’s was sent off in style for his 7 Marathons.
100s of people congregated at the Crantock Village Hall for the Big Breakfast. People of all ages came to support Nellie and Carly on the start of this local fundraising event.
Nicola Keast and daughter Laura were helped by lots of local friends, to arrange the most amazing Big Breakfast, with Bacon Butties and Sausage Sandwiches on sale along with a massive cake stall and Bric a Brac stall.
Nelly was overwhelmed by the support. James and Adam were there without Penny as she was in Salisbury with Carly.
BBC Radio Cornwall was there to report on the start of his epic journey.
Nelly then went off to Penny and James’s House in the village to start his 1st marathon. At 9am he set off with Sandi Hill and Ned Bailey as supporting runners and a quad bike and back up vehicle in tow. The weather was kind – although cold it was dry and sunny for this 1st leg. Sandi had only intended to run the 1st 10 miles but got carried along with the euphoria of the day and ended up completing the 1st marathon alongside Nelly.
Meanwhile back at the village hall the Big Breakfast was really getting under way.
More and more people kept arriving, local friends and netball players – old and current.
The day managed to raise a massive £3800 pounds
The Raffle 4 Rehab another £500
A brilliant start to our fundraising efforts
Thanks to all those who made the day possible and to all those who supported this great cause!
